Population of Study

Developmental Psychology, in both the applied and academic domains, focus their research on individuals and families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds; those with differing physical, social, emotional, and cognitive abilities; those with varying economic and social opportunity; and those with diverse conditions of living. Developmental research examines individuals of all age groups, from birth through the end of life.   Most developmental psychology programs focus on the development of human beings; sometimes, research on non-humans is included to help us understand human development.
